Fashion Fest #4

Mimi Berlin’s Fashion-Fest #4; us wearing Dick Holthaus, October 2015. With this self-portrait we want to remember Dutch Couturier Dick Holthaus, who sadly passed away this year. The portrayed are wearing VintageDeluxe outfits designed by Dick Holthaus in the 1960s.*

From left to right: Mimi Berlin, family of Mimi Berlin and family of Dick Holthaus. All the portrayed are working the creative fields of fashion. Mimi Berlin’s Fashion-Fest #4: us wearing Dick Holthaus, is a photo-montage made by Mimi Berlin©2015

We really would like to thank the following people very much for their generousity, kindness, time and knowledge: JW Kaldenbach, Ferry van der Nat and Ulrike Träge (collectioneurs of (vintage) clothing), The Vintage Snatcher (bijoux), Petra Kamphuis, Milou van Rossum, Gümmischtuck, Joey Holthaus, Baukje Bies, Amber Jansen, Machteld Schouten, Manon Schaap and Wendelien Daan

Let us share a secret with you;

Initially the concept for MBFF4 was to pharaprase the “brides’ photo by Paul Huf, made in 1963 at the studio of Dick Holthaus. As you can see  we decided, while working, that MBFF4 should have a different outcome. Sometimes there’s just no need for a group-portrait to paraphrase an image; in the case of MBFF4 we actually only needed one model: Joey Holthaus in a (vintage) dress designed by his uncle Dick Holthaus.holthaus_generations_mimiberlin
